conformations

(necklace-forever 21, skirt- topshop)

On the weekend my best friend got confirmed which I thought was really cute, I got confirmed last year but her church does it differently. Any who!, the mass was so long and the church was packed so much I had to sit across my friends laps but we finally made it out alive and with an officially confirmed chick! Then we went to the nicest pub in Kent which although was quite far away, proved definitely worth the drive. The food was gorgeous as you can see from some of the photos plus not to mention really filling. It was a cute day with some of the closest girls stuffing our faces free of charge to be honest! Honestly can't imagine how much it cost for 3 course meals for the whole party (bearing in mind she had people from her family in Germany over) but if your reading this then thanks loads Tisk :)

Recommendation for King Henry VIII Inn, Hever Road, Hever, Kent is a must so if you're down that area or want a nice cosy pub check this place out ( fyi dogs are allowed in aswell).

CHS Fashion Show 2011

Every year the sixth form of my school hold a Fashion Show and all proceeds go to their chosen charity, which this year was the Mayor's Charity. There are different catwalks showing clothes they have made and some just bought plus dances and this year a cheerleading dance. The best part of the show for most of us was the Nostalgia catwalk; this showed friends dressed up as Teletubbies (morph suits!), Toy Story, Aladdin etc. Overall it was a great evening but next is our year and the current year 12's which will definitely be one of the best!

the party that was never meant to be...

(top-Topshop, skirt-H&M, shoes-Converse)

Just a day in Oxford Street with my friend before what should have been the party of the year; they had a performer planned, great venue, two cakes and had definitely gone all out with budgets! However, when everyone arrived at the venue the security guards failed to turn up and after numerous attempts to call them/other guards the party had to be cancelled (the venue wouldn't let anyone in without security guards present). So after a hard days shopping for black and pink items, as was the intended theme, we went and sat for our parents to arrive at a friends. Exciting stuff. Highlight of the evening was when we were changing out of our heels on some steps near the venue and a guy walks past us saying, 'That's where I used to sit when I couldn't get in to anywhere!' Definitely topped and summed up our night!

V&A Fashion Festival

Here is a very late post, I recently found the photos as I had previously tried to upload them but blogger wasn't having it! Anyway this was the first time my 'work' has ever been exhibited and I have to admit, I am very proud. During the Summer holidays I attended a Summer Course that I have showed previously in my blog, but for those who don't know, it was called 'Design and Make your own garment'. It was a short and sweet three day course where you made a design of your choice preferably based on a piece in the V&A. Well I received an email asking if it would be okay for my garment to be displayed at the Fashion Festival, who would turn that down bearing in mind this is one of my favourite museums?
The Festival was a great success although I did have to leave early however I got some great advice for future fashion careers and portfolio ideas etc. and also a free magazine! It is called Pigeons & Peacocks and is run by the London College of Fashion. They are only on their third issue but it is definitely worth a look at, there are some great pieces in there and an opportunity to contribute to the magazine yourself.

Hope this was helpful or just nice to read, let me know,
